(TITC) – On 14th and 15th October, at Homstay Son Thuy, Ba Leng village, Huu Lien commune, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organised a training class; workshop on building community tourism villages according to ASEAN standards.

Participating in training, over 30 delegates representing leaders of Huu Lien commune, the Management Board of commune cultural and community tourism village tourist attractions, tourism business households, and tourism services in the area. Experts from the Asian Tourism Development Institute and Vietnam Community Tourism Association imparted training on contents such as: Instructions for improving the landscape of community tourism villages; Regulations, methods of operation and management of community tourism villages; tourist destination management, tour operation; ASEAN and national standards on accommodation; Guide and exchange to improve the quality of tourism services (accommodation products, meals…).

At the workshop on researching and developing tourism products in Huu Lien with the participation of provincial departments, leaders of Huu Lung district People’s Committee, experts on community tourism development, Tourism businesses inside and outside the province, households providing tourism services in Huu Lien commune discussed and researched to build and develop tourism products in Huu Lien commune such as: Research and invest in developing souvenir gift products; Standardise existing local products and services associated with preserving and promoting national cultural identity…Support tourist destinations in building tours and tourist routes linking tourist destinations; propose solutions to build and develop typical tourism products…
According to the plan, in the period 2022-2025, Lang Son province strives to have 02 community tourism destinations recognized as meeting ASEAN standards for community tourism. A number of homestays at Huu Lien community tourism site, Huu Lung district and community tourism site in Quynh Son commune (Bac Quynh, Bac Son district) were selected for construction. Building community tourism destinations according to ASEAN standards focuses on improving the quality of human resources, the quality of community tour guide services, building community tourism information points, developing community tourism sightseeing services, entertainment services at community tourism destinations, improving and enhancing the quality of food and beverage services at community tourism destinations, organising Traditional cultural and artistic performances at community tourist attractions…; Pay attention to environmental protection, hygiene, security, and fire and explosion prevention.
