TITC proceed the 2nd training and guiding the implementation of ASEAN Tourism Standards in 2022

(TITC) – On 10th November, in Hoa Binh City (Hoa Binh Province), Tourism Information Technology Center (TITC) (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism – VNAT) coordinated with the Hotel Department (under VNAT) and Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organise training and guiding the implementation of ASEAN Tourism Standards in 2022. This is the hybrid programme connecting provinces and cities across the country.

The first training and guiding the implementation of ASEAN Tourism Standards in 2022 took place in Thua Thien Hue Province with the participation of 130 trainees, representing 80 agencies, units and organisations operating in different fields across the country.

Giving his remark to start the programme, Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa, Deputy Director of Tourism Information Technology Center – TITC said destinations and tourism industries of countries relatively face challenges and requirements on improving competitiveness and international tourism integration, especially after the long period of the Covid-19 pandemic has strongly affected on the world tourism industry, changing completely behaviour and trend of travelling. Acknowledging clearly the challenge, year of 2022 has been considered as the golden time for the entire industry to raise awareness about regional as well as international service standards, unifying the revision and evaluation to implement solutions in improving the quality of tourism services, the image and reputation of Vietnam’s tourism in the regional and world markets.

TITC’s Deputy Director Hoang Quoc Hoa added, the ASEAN Tourism Standards acts as a framework, a basis of requirement and guidance for tourism service establishments to standardise service quality and management efficiency on par with the region.

Recently, VNAT has issued a Document to guide localities on implementing and interconnecting existing systems with the digital platforms of VNAT such as multi-service digital platforms “Vietnam Travel” app; digital platform “Vietnam Tourism Guide – VTG”; The Viet – Smart tourism card”; Electronic ticket system; communication channels on digital platforms… This is a system of core products built by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to implement the Digital Tourism Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period; at the same time, creating a synchronous, unified and effective connection of tourism digital transformation activities nationwide.

Ms. Bui Thi Niem – Director of Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, Hoa Binh tourism has been awakened and started to focus on developing nature and culture potentials in efficient and sustainable directions. Simultaneously, Community tourism has created sustainable livelihoods for local people, becoming a strength to attract domestic and international tourists to Hoa Binh. The tourism industry of Hoa Binh Province determines that improving the quality of products and services plays a prerequisite role and is a fundamental solution to promote tourism growth.

Over the past years, Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has achieved prestigious categories in the ASEAN Tourism Awards such as: ASEAN Homestay Award (2017: Ban Lac Homestay); ASEAN Community Tourism Award (2019: Da Bia village community tourist area, Da Bac).

The training and guiding the implementation of ASEAN Tourism Standards in 2022 in Vietnam not only helps to improve the quality of services, but also an opportunity to touch a hand to prestigious international tourism awards to raise the reputation and promote tourism in Hoa Binh Province.

The training programme will last for 2 days in Hoa Binh Province on 10th and 11th November 2022.
