Scenes filmed in Khanh Hoa help promote the local tourist destination.
Filmmakers, screenwriters and film critics highly appreciate the potentials to combine tourism and cinema development in Khanh Hoa. According to Director, People’s Artist Dao Ba Son, Khanh Hoa is like miniature Vietnam with the sea, islands, rivers, forests, mountains, etc. which can form a big studio for domestic and international filmmakers.
Several leading Vietnamese directors have come to Khanh Hoa to find scenes for many famous movies. The images of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa have left deep impression on the audience. Integration of cinema and tourism
Film-induced tourism is required in Khanh Hoa with a proactive approach needed in order to find and encourage skilled producers to film at local locations, taking advantage of the connection of art and commerce, linking travel operators and film makers. Travel operators may recommend sets with beautiful sceneries or tours suitable for film stories to attract visitors, according to Journalist Viet Van, Labor Newspaper.
Screenwriter Dinh Thien Phuc says inspiring scripts or stories related to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa known as the Land of Aloe Wood, are needed to attract filmmakers. For example, Cannes Film Festival brings a massive tourism influx to Cannes (France). “With breath-taking sceneries, Nha Trang City is expecting to host international events for further tourism marketing. A few decades ago, no one could imagine Nha Trang would turn into such a thriving and beautiful city as it is now, so why don’t we dream of a big international film festival taking place in this picturesque coastal city in the coming time?”, he added.
The conference “Khanh Hoa: Ideal connection spot of cinema and tourism” within the framework of Kite Awards 2021 took place in Khanh Hoa on September 8-13.
