Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is planning to launch a three-hour cruise tour along the Saigon River that is expected to be among key tourism products in the area this year.
According to the department, the tour would start at Binh An Ward in Thu Duc City and take passengers to enjoy the sunset through Bach Dang Wharf, Phu My Bridge, Red Light Cape, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, and Binh Loi Bridge.
Several cruise companies have registered to run the tour, each serving between 10 and 25 passengers and costs between VND5-10 million (US$217-434) per passenger. Light parties with tea, cocktails, wine or cakes will be served together with saxophone and violin performances during the tour.
This is the second key tourism product after the helicopter tour that was launched in the programme Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City in an effort to diversify travel experiences for visitors after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ho Chi Minh City has set a target to receive 28.5 million visitors including 25 million from domestic and 3.5 million from overseas markets this year, with a revenue of VND97.7 trillion.
