(TITC) – On 12th October, in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province), took place the Conference on “Solutions to develop the international tourist market to Khanh Hoa and provinces in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands Regions”.

The conference was organised by Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, aiming to obtain solutions and orientation to develop Khanh Hoa tourism; basing on the number of international visitor arrivals to Vietnam in general, to Khanh Hoa in particular since the policy of reopening tourism under new normal to find synchronous solutions to improve the attractiveness of the destination; restore and promote the operation of direct international routes; review results of cooperation in tourism development, strengthening tourism development links, cooperation in building common tourism products between Khanh Hoa and other provinces.
Giving a remark at the event, Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee said, the conference is an opportunity for Khanh Hoa Province and provinces in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions to exchange, obtain solutions and overcome difficulties post the pandemic so all the premium tourism products can reach international visitors. Most importantly is to strengthen a long term regional linkage and cooperation, operate effectively, contribute to sustainable tourism development.
Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc, Director of Tourism Marketing Department, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said, since the fully opening, tourism activities in Vietnam have been receiving positive signs of recovery, countless national and international events took place to introduce tourism products, promote the industry and welcome visitors.
Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc further stated a number of suggestions for Khanh Hoa Province, including the development of a wide range of attractive tourism products, call for investments, putting digital transformation to the focus along with the application of smart tourism and technology in tourism operation. Especially promote e-marketing, communication and promotional campaigns on media, social networks, strengthen cooperation and linkage in tourism development with other provinces and cities in the region, the South Central and the Central Highlands regions particularly; last but not least, to improve destination competitiveness.

Regarding the digital transformation in tourism operation, Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa – Deputy Director of Tourism Information Technology Center (under VNAT) said, VNAT has built a national smart tourism ecosystem connecting authorities, destinations, businesses and tourists. A number of significant applications can be named Vietnam tourism database system, tourism statistics data, axis connecting information system from central to grassroots, Vietnam Tourism Guides-VTG, etc.
Particularly, aiming to support tourism businesses enriching the experience of tourists during the stay, VNAT developed the Vietnam Travel app, which integrates utility features such as information look up, service booking, etc… Significantly, a feedback feature is presented on the app for visitors to report comments/complaints of the quality of services.
Simultaneously, The Viet – Smart Tourism Card – a product in the smart tourism ecosystem to assist visitors in easy online transactions, non-cash payments, etc. Mr. Hoa added, The Viet is now integrated on the Vietnam Travel app so visitors can enjoy fully in Vietnam.
VNAT has supported a number of tourist spots and relics such as the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam (Ha Noi) and Ho Chi Minh Vestige in the Presidential Palace area to implement the e-ticket system and on the way to other spots.
Digital transformation is an inevitable trend for the tourism industry in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the profound effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasised Mr. Hoa. A Guide to Digital Transformation in the Tourism Industry was published to have a unison mind about digital transformation. It is necessary to have close cooperation and be proactive among localities and businesses to promote digital transformation activities effectively.
Regarding the cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, in the first 9 months of 2022, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented a number of contents in Lam Dong – Khanh Hoa tourism development cooperation programme for the period of 2021 – 2022. As a result, tourism in both provinces has given a sign of recovery and regrowth; tourist spots of the two provinces were restored operation; tourism businesses started to reconnect.

During the conference,participants discussed on a number of important contents including Plan to welcome international tourists back to Vietnam and to Khanh Hoa in the last months of 2022 and in 2023 and orientation to develop the international tourist market to 2030; Solutions to restore and develop international routes to Khanh Hoa; etc.
