An Giang preserving the brocade weaving trade of the Van Giao commune Khmer ethnic minority

Constant emphasis is placed on the preservation and promotion of the traditional crafts of ethnic minorities in the province of An Giang; this contributes to the enhancement of the reputation of the local culture, the creation of employment opportunities, and the growth of the populace’s income. In Van Giao commune (Tinh Bien town), the Khmer ethnic minority is responsible for the preservation and advancement of brocade weaving.

Renewing craft village heritage for tourism development

In recent years, visitors to Vinh Long Province have been surprised by the ancient beauty of the “kingdom” of red ceramic bricks along the Thay Cai Canal and Co Chien River. During the 1980s, the province had nearly 3,000 brick kilns operating all year round, stretching nearly 30 kilometres, in Long Ho and Mang Thit Districts.

Located on the peaceful and poetic Lo river, Hung Lo community cultural tourist destination, Hung Lo commune, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province with an architectural complex of ancient communal houses, temples, and pagodas is a destination to visit ancient houses, make Banh Chung, Banh Giay, experience listening to Xoan singing… of many domestic and international tourists when coming to the Fatherland. In 2022, the Hung Lo community tourism product group was recognized as a 3-star OCOP at the provincial level, contributing to promoting tourism potential, enhancing economic value for people, and preserving the traditional cultural identity of the locality.

Hue City receives ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award

On the evening of January 26th, 2024, the award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City took place in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Hue City, being one of three cities representing Vietnam, proudly received this prestigious award. This is an award within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) held from January 22nd to 27th. The delegation from Hue City, led by the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, Vo Le Nhat, attended the award ceremony and participated in various activities of the forum.
